Our vision
We believe dialogue is neither an innate talent nor a matter of personality. It is a relationship skill that can be learned — just like reading or math. We also believe that the lack of these skills in our everyday lives, and especially in our schools, contributes to conflict, harmful behaviors, and the breakdown of social connection.
That’s why we created dialog’: a simple, effective, and scalable way to help people learn how to truly listen, understand one another, navigate differences, and build stronger relationships.
Our mission
dialog’ is working toward a society where dialogue is at the heart of education, social connection, and violence prevention. Through a board game, workshops, training programs, and rigorous impact measurement, we create safe spaces where people learn to truly listen to one another, understand different perspectives, and work together.
Our approach
While most approaches step in once conflict has already taken hold, dialog’ focuses on what comes before it: the everyday quality of attention, listening, and conversation.
And we rigorously measure the difference it can make — in relationship skills, young people’s mental health, and school climate.

These three values come to life every day through four principles that we apply first to ourselves: Listening · Courage · Inclusion · Human Connection.
Listening, because without it, dialogue becomes two people talking past each other. Courage, because speaking honestly takes courage. Inclusion, because a dialogue where some voices are never heard is not truly a dialogue. And Human Connection, because relationships don’t simply happen — they need to be built, nurtured, and sustained.
Our governance
Relational independence
dialog’ is a French public-interest nonprofit organization established under the French Law of 1901 (RNA W841007361) and chaired by Valérie Gauthier, Professor at HEC Paris.
Our model is intentionally different: dialog’ has no permanent staff. Instead, the organization relies on an ecosystem of committed independent professionals, dedicated volunteers, and mission-aligned partners, supported by strategic guidance, a rigorous scientific approach, and a principle of reciprocity between dialog’ and everyone who contributes to its mission.
This model is not simply about keeping costs down. It allows us to stay agile, minimize fixed overhead, and make dialog’ available at minimum cost to public schools with limited resources and to families facing financial hardship.
Every euro we receive goes directly toward impact on the ground: game kits, training, implementation, and rigorous impact measurement.

Prove rather then claim
Every dialog’ rollout includes an impact measurement protocol combining questionnaires, observation, and analysis.
Make dialog’ self-sustaining
2 hours to become a dialog’ animator, one day to become a dialog’ Master, and six months to become an Expert.
Remain accessible
Financial support to make dialog’ accessible to public schools with limited budgets and families in need. Shipping and fulfillment are handled by COS ESAT Regain, a supported employment organization for people with disabilities.
Be accountable
Publish an annual activity report and provide full transparency on how funds are allocated.
From promise to proof
2025–2026 turned intuition into evidence.
2024–2025 was a year of observation. 2025–2026 was the year we began turning insight into evidence.
Version 4 of the dialog’ game was co-designed with a team of HEC Paris researchers, drawing on the latest research on emotions. A first high school pilot produced promising results; the ISR-dialog’ relationship climate barometer was developed; and our educational approach was formalized in La Fabrique dialog’, launched on June 23, 2026.
September 2026 marks a decisive new step: the first large-scale scientific study of dialog’, involving more than 700 10th-grade students across 30 classes and two high schools, using a controlled research protocol led by HEC Paris.
